Golf: A good walk ruined. - Mark Twain (1835-1910)
My favourite pastime, hacking around a field with a few of my friends
Can't think of anything better than earning a living playing golf
Beats me why the pro's walk around with faces liked Smacked Arses all the time!!
Southern Spain is the absolute mecca of golf resorts when it comes to playing the royal and ancient game.
It isn't one thing, but the combination of weather, the Mediterranean sea,
the local cuisine and of course the alcohol.
The pictures on the left are from the La Cala club,
it is one of the most difficult courses we have encountered, All 3 courses are long and extremely hilly.
Hilly probably doesn't describe it as it is actually set in the foothills of a mountain.
The greens are extremely quick, the fastest we have ever played.
Another course which is also very testing is Monte Mayor which is cut on the side of a mountain.
Set near the village of Benahavis and Ronda it offers the high handicap and pro golfer a serious challenge.
The course is closed during the hottest months of the year as it dries out too quickly,
also the wild boar wander down from the mountains and offer golfers an altogether different kind of challenge.
Below are just a few pictures of my friends, some of my favourites courses and some links as well.
