"Written when Jose first arrived at the Bridge"

Chelsea! Probably the most frustrating football team on the planet that anybody could think of "supporting" They have promised so much over the years without ever fulfilling their potential, but, being an ardent and optomistic supporter of the mighty " Pensioners " there's always next year. That should be the clubs motto ", There's Always Next Year". Although, now, with the clout of Roman Abramovich's Roubles we could finally be on the brink of something mind blowingly incomprehensible, "Chelsea, Kings of Europe", Still only a pipe dream? not if Jose Mourinho has his way. Jose is probably one of the most astute young managers in the modern game, he will leave nothing to chance as he attempts to mould Chelsea into one of the most powerful and feared teams in Europe. He is already clearing out the dead wood, the rotten apples that could turn the whole basket of fruit equally as rotten. His belief lies in the team ethic, everybody working for each other and who can argue that it doesn't work, with an unfancied and unfashionable team like Porto winning the UEFA Cup last season and the European Cup this season. If he can do that with Porto, he must feel that the sky's the limit with the resources at his disposal at Chelsea. The old saying time will tell is true of course, but being a Chelsea Fan I am always and forever optomistic. As one of my oldest friends Kevin always said to people, God is a Chelsea fan because the sky is blue and white.

Well 2 years on and 2 titles later I think we have the right man in place, although President Abramovich is still waiting fot the European Cup or Champions League trophy if you're not old enough to remember the original format of proper knockout and not this pretence of a mini league (Yawn).
Possibly this season it will arrive to the steadily increasing trophy cabinet at the Bridge? we'll have to wait and see!

The End Of The "Special" Era!

What is life going to be like at the Bridge now that the Special one is no longer there!
Time will indeed tell although I started to worry when Jose Mourinho started to compare footballers to eggs and omelettes?
Reminds me of the "Seagulls following the trawler" quote by Eric Cantona for reasons only known to the enigma himself!!

The only thing I will say is the smoke screen named Avram Avram GantGrant will probably not be the No.1 for long as Abramowich is nothing if not a very shrewd businessman, so will bring in the best man available to run things again with the appointment of Ajax coach Henk Ten Cate joining the coaching staff and Frank Rijkaards name in the frame to be the new manager?

Watch this space!!
